The Redundancy Test Case

With the recent spate of large scale company failures, redundancy rights are in the headlines. Now the ACTU is running a test case, which the ASU is involved in, to enshrine your redundancy rights.

John Nucifora is the National Industrial Officer responsible for the ASU's involvement in the fight for fairer redundancy arrangements. For further information, please contact John.

Redundancy Test Case decision handed down

New redundancy standards now available - June 9, 2004
ASU National Secretary, Paul Slape, has welcomed a supplementary decision of the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) in the Redundancy Test Case. The Union can now start processing award variations to protect our members with the new provisions.

ASU National Secretary, Paul Slape, has applauded the recent decision of the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) in the Redundancy test case run by the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU).

ASU witnesses assist redundancy test case - June 2, 2003
ASU witnesses Christine Tutty and Lorraine Johnstone have provided witness evidence to the redundancy test case which is currently before a Full Bench of the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC). Their testimony will support the unions' position in seeking improved minimum redundancy provisions as well as extending the right to redundancy pay to more employees.
