Conference to discuss how to make better workplaces a reality
Paul Slape, National Secretary of the Australian Services Union (ASU) announced the agenda of this year's National Conference is to closely examine new ways in which the Union can campaign to help members in their workplaces.
Sharan Burrow opens ASU National Conference 2002
This morning, Tuesday, December 3, 2002, ACTU President Sharan Burrow opened the biennial ASU National Conference being held in Canberra. Beginning by explaining the significant "dream" coverage of the ASU, she discussed the need to organise for the future.
National Conference addressed by Simon Crean When Federal Opposition Leader Simon Crean addressed the ASU's peak body, National Conference, he recognised that the ASU is involved in the strongest growing sector of the workforce. Whilst the workplace is changing, he encouraged the Union to embrace the change while holding on to core labour values.
