The ASU National Negotiating team met with Qantas for our 9th meeting on the 19th August. At that meeting Qantas finally presented more detail on their claims. Past, present and future – remember them all when you vote on Aug 21
When we wrote to our supporters in the lead up to the 2007 election, there was a lot at stake. Many Australians had been suffering under the Draconian WorkChoices regime that had cut pay and conditions, and refused workers a fair go. About us

Representing the interests of approximately 120,000 members across the country, the Australian Services Union - better known as the ASU - is one of the largest trade unions in Australia. Formed in 1993 as an amalgamation of a number of unions, including the FCU, the MEU and the MOA, the ASU operates in areas as diverse as local government, energy, water, public transport, , shipping, travel, ports, social and community services, information technology and the private sector clerical and administrative area.

This is the official website of the ASU National Office, which serves a coordinating function for the 11 Branches of the union as well as its many regional offices. While the Branches deal directly with the industrial needs of our members, here at the National Office we disseminate information, coordinate national campaigns and industries, fulfill a number of the administrative responsibilities of the Union and act as a contact point for international and national affiliations.

In addition to working for our members directly with their employers, negotiating awards and agreements, and indirectly through our 11 Branches, the ASU National Office is also active on a number of national and international committees through our various afiliations (eg; ACTU, PSI, UNI, ITF, etc.). See our Union Links page for an annotated list of other websites that may be of interest to you

ASU industries and campaigns
