Tax Time Tips for Airline Employees

The new financial year is now here and it is time for airline employees to start thinking about getting your tax return for the 2002/2003 year completed and lodged.

The Australian Tax Office has produced a publication specifically for airline employees which provides information about claiming work related expenses. The brochure "Occupational Ruling Summary - Airline Employees" is available in the Related Documents section at the bottom of this bulletin and on the Tax Office website www.ato.gov.au.

Training costs, first aid courses, union fees, uniform laundry costs and a range of other work related costs may be tax deductible.

Check out the information available and make sure you are up to date on the allowance deductions for airline employees.
