Menzies EBA vote = Yes!
After a long period of negotiations we finally have a new Agreement! The ballot last week was highly successful with a large voter turn out across Melbourne and Sydney, with 98% of voters voting in favour of the agreement.

ASU recommends YES vote for Menzies
After consultation with ASU members in Sydney and Melbourne over the last two weeks the ASU recommends that staff covered by the ASU Customer Service Employees (Menzies Aviation) Enterprise Agreement 2007 vote YES to approve the EBA when voting commences tomorrow on Thursday 17th April 2008.

It pays to know your rights at REX
A memo to all staff at REX has been distributed which lists the full names all employees who have over 80 hours of accrued annual leave and the amount of leave they have accrued. The memo has also been reported in the ‘Friday files’. This memo states that if the leave is not taken it will be forfeited!

Voting has concluded in the Rex Airline Services Agreement 2006. A majority of Rex employees have voted on whether they accept the new Rex Airline Services Agreement 2006 and the overwhelming majority voted "yes".

What’s going on with the backpay at Menzies?
As most members would be aware, the Customer Service Employees (Menzies Aviation) Enterprise Agreement 2005 was certified by the Australian Industrial Relations Commission on Wednesday 25th January 2006. There were a number of payments to be made upon certification of this Agreement – we have been advised by Menzies, by email as reproduced below, the timing of these payments.

Tell Virgin Blue not to offshore Australian jobs
Australia's second largest domestic airline Virgin Blue has confirmed that it plans to offshore Australian call centre jobs when it changes its "overflow call centre" provider in June 2006 from the Melbourne based Stellar call centre to a call centre in Manila, The Philippines.
