Airlines: Overseas CarriersSingapore Airlines converts all private health cover to MBF15 November 2007By ASU - the airlines industry union Singapore Airlines announced yesterday at the Joint Consultative Committee meeting, Sydney that all company subsidised private health insurance will now be taken out with MBF. Information meetingsSingapore management said in their announcement that the first of the briefings will commence in Melbourne today (November 15, 2007). These briefings will be conducted by senior management in conjunction with a representative from MBF. SIA have arranged for one on one sessions to follow up from these main meetings. Due to the lack of notice for many it may be difficult to attend the initial meeting. It is vitalIt is vital that you ensure you have all available information to hand before you make a decision to change funds. There are many issues to consider including pre-existing medical conditions, pharmaceutical extras, long membership benefits etc. SIA has committed to ensure that all staff will have access during work time over the next four weeks to meet with MBF. What is the deal?
SIA will continue to pay 50% of your cover as it currently stands in the converted package from MBF. You must make a decision by 15 December 2007 which will be the change over date. What do you do next?
Make sure you find out all the facts on your current cover and then what the new offer entails. If you are able to make special arrangements with MBF you should ensure yo have those confirmed in writing. Remember: make sure you attend your local briefing and see the MBF one on one person.
