Link Telecommunications Survey Results

02 April 2004

Improving your wages and maintaining existing conditions is definitely on your agenda at Link Telecommunications! An overwhelming number (100%) of Link staff surveyed stated that you did not want to lose anymore conditions in the next round of Enterprise Bargaining, that a decent wage increase was well overdue and that better consultation with management on issues that affect you needs to occur.

You also said…

That it was about time that you got paid for performing higher duties, 83% of the surveys indicated this was very important. Access to full time or part time employment for Link staff also featured highly as did more flexibility in rostering for you to balance work and family.

Now is the time to get involved

The next Enterprise Bargaining round is now underway. As a National Union, the ASU is well placed to assist you by organising across the four Link sites to provide you with the opportunity to get a better deal but we can't do it without you!

There are no rules (legal or otherwise) that can force an employer to make a fair and appropriate offer to staff. Workplaces that have high union membership PLUS active members deliver the best wage outcomes. It comes down to what members feel is an appropriate offer in the current economy and what they are prepared to accept.

Getting organised and getting active is the only way to ensure that your 2004 Enterprise Bargaining round provides you and your families the income you deserve for your skills and contribution to Link. The choice is yours! We hope you decide to join with ASU members at Link to work towards a fair outcome for all staff.

Keep talking to us. We can work together!

Your elected representatives have just returned from a 2 day seminar organised by Link. It is important that the ASU and your elected workplace representatives work together. Contact your local ASU Organiser and your Workplace Rep and let us know what you think about your wages and conditions and what can be done to get a good result through the Enterprise Bargaining process.

If you would like more information about what the ASU is doing to help Link workers get organised or want to participate in the Enterprise Bargaining campaign at Link please contact your local employee representative or organiser.
