Local GovernmentGold Coast Council workers to stop work on Tuesday21 August 2009By ASU-Queensland Services Branch Monday's council meeting is the last chance to avert a stoppage. Thousands of Gold Coast City Council workers will stop work for 24 hours on Tuesday, 25 August, unless the council improves its pay offer and provides ongoing job security provisions by Monday, the Australian Services Union - Queensland Services branch (QSU) said today.
