Gold Coast City Council: Union EBA report back – STOP WORK26 August 2009By ASU-Queensland Services Branch Union members across Gold Coast City Council stoped work for 24 hours Tuesday 25 August 2009 in an effort to progress their EBA campaign for employment security and a fair and decent wage increase that matches industry standards. Members should today be very proud of their efforts to come together collectively to show Council that we are serious about our campaign. Future Stop Works are planned for 2 and 9 September. Approximately 1000 members across Council attended yesterdays stop work rally at Evandale Park, Bundall and 100% supported the following resolutions: [Please download the full bulletin below] Future STOP WORKSMembers will not be required to attend a union rally during the 4 hour stop work on the 2 September 2009, you will just stop work. However, the unions are proposing to hold a report back meeting during the 4 hour stop work on the 9 September 2009. Further details will be provided in the coming days. Parties at the Commission again todayCouncil have sought assistance for the QIRC regarding the settlement of the EBA. Conciliation commences at 2pm today. All unions will be attending and will report back on any outcomes from the conciliation and the status of negotiations via newsletters. Related Documents:
