SACS: Employment Services
Employment services survey deadline extended to November 3020 November 2009By the ASU - the employment services union As part of "Employment Services - not just a job" project we have been conducting a national survey of employment services workers. Time is running out to let the Government know how you feel about working in the sector and to win an iPod Nano into the bargain! >>> Click here to do the survey right now. "Employment Services: not just a job" is an Employment Service Worker Reconnection project which is undertaken by the ASU with funding from the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). As part of this project the ASU will be working with employment services workers, employer associations and employment services providers to map the transition of workers from Job Network providers since the establishment of Job Services Australia (JSA). Our other main goal is to identify strategies that will enable JSA providers to attract and retain a skilled workforce. The survey is one of our major tools for achieving these objectives. Thank you to everyone who has completed the survey so far. People from around Australia have taken the opportunity to tell us what they think about the attraction and retention of workers in the sector as well as giving us vital insights into the JSA tender process. Recently we have had an upsurge in the number of people completing the survey but we know there are a lot more people out there who are yet to complete this simple five minute survey. The more employment services workers participate, the better. So far we are already coming up with some interesting results and people who complete the survey and supply their email address will be given a report on the findings of the survey.
So do it now, don't delay a moment longer and ask your colleagues to complete the survey as well! The survey is open until 30 November 2009 and is open to all workers in the employment services sector and those who were employed with a Job Network employer prior to the transition to the JSA tender. Conditions of entry can be found on the campaign website: http://www.employmentservicesunion.org.au/ Any queries regarding the survey can be directed to Julie Kun the National JSA Project Coordinator at jkun@asu.asn.au or (03) 9342 1450.
