Women and the 2007 federal election

Are you a carer?

Do you care about:

  • Children
  • The elderly
  • Family
  • The environment
  • Workers' rights
  • Your community
  • Your neighbours
  • Women's rights
  • The economy
  • Human rights
  • Border security

Have you answered "yes" to any of the above or you say "yes, I care" to the many other important issues women care about?

Then the 2007 federal election is the place for you to have your say about the issues of most importance to you.

The ASU has been speaking with members by telephone, in workplace meetings and at rallies about one of the key issues which is: your rights at work. ASU members have said overwhelmingly that they are concerned for the rights of workers and for the future of workplaces and laws for the younger generation.

What can you do?

There are many websites and online resources that can provide you with information on the issues and these include (this list is not intended to cover all political options):

Are you able to have your say in the 2007 federal election?

We ask this question because you may not know that the Howard Coalition Government changed the legislation effectively shortening the time the electoral roll is open after an election has been called. Full details about deadlines and how to can be found on the ASU's enrol to vote webpage.

It is vital that you ensure all of your family, friends and neighbours are correctly enrolled to vote.
