Qantas EBA11 preparations begin

21 October 2015 By ASU, the airlines industry union

At the recent national meeting of ASU Qantas delegates it was resolved to commence our preparations for our Qantas EBA11 this year.

asu-airlines-general-bulletin-button600pxwAs a result our Qantas EBA 11 ASU survey has now been released to enable staff to express a view about what we should claim in this next bargaining round.

In a number of locations ASU delegates and organisers will be holding meetings to discuss and complete our survey and to plan our EBA campaign.

Make your voice heard

These meetings are an ideal opportunity to discuss the survey, consider what is important and ensure everyone can participate in determining what is included in the ASU Claim. Even if you cannot make a meeting it is still important to make sure you fill out the survey and make your view known.

There is no doubt we have been through some tumultuous times since concluding EBA10 – we already know that Qantas management want us to take a wage freeze despite the drastic cuts to numbers we have suffered and changes to work processes that have occurred, all of which has resulted in Qantas going back into profit in a record time.

Less staff and more work also means productivity is well and truly up and should be rewarded.

Many people have also raised the need to put family violence leave in our EBA not just in policy, safeguard paid parental leave, confirm part time rights and improve job security.

There is certainly a lot to consider in this round of bargaining and your view is important.

Watch out for meetings

Meetings will be held in many locations and surveys will be distributed – watch out for your local meetings – coming to your workplace soon or contact your ASU branch for a copy of the survey.
