17 September 2014 By ASU, the airlines industry union

140917-menzies-global-action-asu-nadc-img 4679-800pxwAs a result of three deaths at Menzies Aviation facilities in Los Angeles since 2006, global action has been launched this week to demand safe conditions for airport workers everywhere and to show solidarity with the bereaved families of airport workers. ASU National Airlines Division Council (NADC) delegates showed their support for the campaign at last week's meeting.

Although the global action has focussed on Menzies Aviation due to deaths at their facilities, and an adverse safety agency findings, the message the ASU wants to amplify is that we demand safe workplaces for all airport workers across the aviation industry.

Promoting optimal occupational health and safety standards is core union business and the ASU makes sure this is always on the agenda with the airline employers we deal with.
