After a marathon 18 months of negotiations for a new Jetstar ASU EBA5 your ASU National Negotiating Team (NNT) is pleased to advise that we finally have an offer for settlement of our EBA which we can recommend to our ASU members for their approval.

As members know our Jetstar EBA5 negotiations were on the verge of finalisation in November 2013 when Qantas CEO Alan Joyce decided to cease all EBA negotiations across the group and impose an indefinite wage freeze. The wage freeze was reduced to an 18 month freeze after representations by your Union and others.

It has been a hard battle getting the negotiations back on track but your NNT have been persistent and in the meantime have also dealt with a range of new issues like Groundstar, the Second Payroll Improvement Review, and the introduction of CBOs and the proposed new team leader position.

More detail at meetings

Jetstar has agreed to release staff for paid time ASU meetings to consider the offer from Jetstar. At these meetings you will get more details and ASU members will be asked to decide whether they endorse the proposed offer.

If the majority of ASU members endorse agreement to the offer then we will advise Jetstar of this agreement and then and only then will the new proposed Jetstar ASU EBA5 be voted on formally in line with the Fair Work Act requirements.

Make sure you attend a local meeting to learn more.
