ASU Recommends Voting ‘YES’ to Jetstar/ASU EBA6

29 March 2018 By ASU

The ASU National Negotiating Team, supported by members across Australia, recommend that members vote “YES” in support of approving the Jetstar/ASU Agreement 2018.

Staff covered by the proposed agreement will have received an email from Jetstar last Monday, 26th March 2018. The email contains a copy of the proposed Jetstar/ASU Agreement 2018 with a letter and other materials outlining the impact of proposals and providing details of the Voting Process.

The Voting Process

Voting for the Agreement will take place by way of online electronic voting. Voting:

  • Opens at 5.00am AEST on Friday 6th April 2018; and
  • Closes at 4.00pm AEST on Friday 13th April 2018.

More detailed voting instructions will be provided to you by Jetstar.

If you are covered by the Agreement and did not receive an email last Monday, please speak to your local Airport Manager or Airport Services Manager, or make contact with the following:

Voting closes at 4.00pm AEST on Friday 13th April 2018. The results should be released shortly afterwards.

Next Steps

An agreement is approved if over 50% of those voting, vote in favour of approval.

If the Agreement is approved by a majority of staff who vote, Jetstar and the ASU will submit the paperwork to start the approval process with the Fair Work Commission (FWC). There are often significant delays in processing of agreement approvals at the FWC. Regardless of when the approval process is completed, the first salary increase is payable from 1st April 2018 and will backdated on approval of the Agreement.
