What's happened so far?
At our first meeting we gave an overview of our claims for this agreement and have indicated to the company that we intend to provide more detailed claims at subsequent meetings.
The company reps tabled their outline of the claims they want to focus on which includes changes to:
- Higher duties
- Transport allowance
- Long service leave
- Paid travel time
- Mascot shift loading
The company also wants to introduce:
- Split shifts
- The ability to automatically recover over payments from wages
- Other technical changes to be detailed
At present we don't have much detail on what is proposed just a brief overview, what exactly the company is seeking will emerge at subsequent meetings as their detailed propositions are tabled.
The unions' NNT have also made a request for information of Emirates pertaining to our claims. We expect to receive the information requested before our next scheduled meeting.
Your NNT is keen to ensure that we conclude negotiations as quickly as possible so a number of meetings have been set down as follows:
- 23 & 24 October
- 25 and 26 November
- 10, 11 and 12 December
Watch out for updates on how negotiations progress.
