Another bonus, then payrise on the way at Qantas Group

28 August 2017 By ASU, the airlines industry union

asu airlines bulletin button 1200pxwQantas announced another bumper profit on Friday 25 August 2017 and as a result decided to provide a bonus of $2500 for full time employee s and $2000 for part time employees who agreed to the airlines 18 months wage freeze.

Qantas Airways ASU members covered by EBA 11 agreed to a wage freeze so are eligible for this bonus.
The good news too is that the wage freeze for EBA 11 is nearly over and 2 pay rises will be payable under EBA 11 in 2018.

Base rate pay is set to increase in 2018 as follows:

  • 1.5% pay increase with effect from the first full pay period on or after 1 January 2018
  • 3% pay increase with effect from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2018.

The hard work and sacrifice of front line staff is getting some recognition and the decision of members to take the pay freeze has netted a number of bonuses over recent years which is good news. Some members considering putting extra money into superannuation talk to your local delegate or organisers about how to do this.
