Mission Providence/Konekt Management refuses to bargain – but ASU members stand together for a fair agreement!

24 May 2018 By ASU

ASU delegates met with management today to continue bargaining for a new enterprise agreement.

Management offered an unfair pay increase of 7.5% over three years (2% in 2018, 2.25% in 2019, 2.25% in 2020) and an additional two days of compassionate leave for employees who need to travel for funerals.

They also told us that they would not agree to:

  • 10 days family and domestic violence leave
  • Consultation before major changes are made
  • A fair classification structure with career progression for all employees
  • More personal leave
  • Fair KPIs
  • Stronger rights for union representative

Our response

We told management that this offer was unacceptable. ASU members are working harder than ever at Konekt Employment and this work needs to be recognised.

Management refuses to bargain

Then management tried to threaten us. They told us that 2.5% pay increases each year for 3 years was there best offer and said they wouldn’t negotiate further.

Management threatened to force through the unfair agreement through.

We told them that the ASU would not give in to threats

We told management that if they were willing to negotiate in good faith, we could meet with them in June. Otherwise, we were walking out of the room until they would treat us with respect.

Because we walked out - management agreed to another meeting. But there is no guarantee they will offer a fairer deal next time.

Next Steps
