Your ASU National Negotiating Team (NNT) met with Jetstar management in Melbourne on 18th September 2013 to start negotiations for the ASU Jetstar EBA 5.

Your NNT provided our endorsed ASU claim to management and then gave an overview of what we are seeking in these negotiations.

We also provided the company reps with some more detailed versions of some of our claims as follows:

Claim 3 – increase of part time hours to 20 or 25 hours
Claim 9 – penalty payments for meal breaks after 5 hours work
Claim 10 – improved job selection processes
Claim 12 – foreign language allowance
Claim 19 – public holiday penalties for work on actual and substitute days
Claim 20 – family violence leave
Claim 22 – 12 hour breaks between shifts

Copies of the detailed claims are available from your local ASU organisers or NNT members.

The rest of our detailed claims will be provided at our subsequent meetings with the company.

Request for information made

We have also requested detailed information from the company to assist us with our claims and we hope to receive that soon from management.

What's next?

We expect management to present their claims at our next meeting.

Meetings have been scheduled to discuss the EBA on 8th, 22nd, and 29th October 2013.

Watch out for more details.
