Recognition Days - Virgin Australia EBA

29 September 2014 By ASU

Under the EBA existing full-time and part-time Virgin staff members are entitled to 3 Recognition Days for each year of the Agreement.

140929-virgin-recognition-day-memeRecognition Days will be credited in December 2013, December 2014, and December 2015.

It is important to remember that Recognition Days must be used within 12 months of being credited and will not accrue if they're not used.

Under the EBA, Virgin have also committed to not unreasonably refuse requests for taking the Recognition Day. If you believe that your request for taking a Recognition Day has been unreasonably refused you should contact your local ASU Delegates or Organiser.

The taking of a Recognition Day is also subject to the following:

  • Payment for the Recognition Day will be the same as payment for a Day in Lieu;
  • The time of taking the Recognition Day must be agreed between the team member and the company;
  • Recognition Days are not able to be taken on a public holiday; and
  • Recognition Days are unable to be cashed out.
