Sign the petition: Don’t take our annual leave at Virgin

05 November 2014 By ASU, the airlines industry union

Virgin staff across the country have been telling us that Virgin's decision to take back incorrectly credited annual leave isn't fair. We've heard you loud and clear, but Virgin still isn't listening.

We think we should insist on keeping the leave, not the least because team members have been relying on the information provided by payroll. Why should we have to bear the brunt of Virgin's mistakes?

Hundreds of staff are detrimentally affected as a result of Virgin's decision, with some staff now facing negative leave balances and the chance that their pre-approved leave will be cancelled.

We need to stick together and convince Virgin management that we should not be penalised – please sign and share the online petition here.

What we're asking for

We are calling on Virgin Australia to:

  • Not deduct the annual leave that has incorrectly been credited;
  • Recognise that these errors have occurred through no fault of any ground crew team members;
  • Ensure no staff members go into a negative leave balance as a result of the review;
  • Ensure all pre-approved leave is honoured; and
  • Draw a line under these mistakes, fix the system and start afresh.
